Cannock and Rugeley School Sport Partnership Competitions

Background

Since 2005 the Youth Sport Trust has worked alongside National Governing Bodies to develop a competition framework the aim of which is to deliver high quality pathways which will leave a lasting legacy up to and beyond the 2012 Olympics.

In 2008 the Youth Sport Trust worked alongside Staffordshire School Sports Partnerships to develop a Competition Manager Team.  Competition Managers are an integral part to raising the quality and quantity of competitive opportunities for young people in line with  National Governing Bodies' Competition Frameworks. Competition Managers work closely with National Governing Bodies, schools associations and other partners at county level to ensure the alignment of the network and the priorities identified within each sport, in order to increase the number of young people engaged in regular competitive opportunities.

In Staffordshire each Competition Manager is responsible for two partnerships and works alongside PDM's, SSCO'S and School Sports Associations
to deliver clear, consistent and progressive competitive opportunities for all young people.
